Nebraska Educators Network

The place for Nebraska educators to meet, connect, and share ideas.

I created a podcast of a review session that I had with students. I would like to make it and others available for my students to download when/if they miss a class before a test. Any suggestions about how to go about this. My mac stuff says to upload to a .mac account. I don't have one at this time.

Any ideas?

Chris, You might also check with your ESU. I am in ESU 8 and we just got a new podcast server. 50 mg. limit. (Older one was 30). Also on a mac you can put into garage band ..Top line of podcast can now become video and it saves a ton of space. and makes into a QT file.

I have also wondered how to share audio files that I create. I would really like to know how to put them in iTunes. If anyone knows.....please share!

Thanks Ann for the suggestions. For the sake of anyone who may be following this... I tried to use my wiki on wikispaces, but there was a 10 Mg file max. Since this review spanned 20 min., I couldn't get it small enough. I have set up a network on ning for my class and was able to upload it as a song. I am going to try to do this for more tests so I will keep looking for more ways to get the files to my students.

Hi Chris,
I think I have done what might work for you by creating a wiki page at wikispaces Wikispaces will give you a free educators account without ads if you ask. They will also make student accounts for you if you need them, but I think all you really need to do in this case is just make your wiki public and upload your audio.
I used gcast to create an audio file but I'm sure the wiki will take any audio file. G cast was fun because all I had to do was turn on my cell phone's speaker function and start talking. Gcast also hosts your audio files so you could just direct your students to that account or like I did embed in a blog or wiki of your choice. Here is the link to my ceramics class' wiki page with the g cast embedded

Google also offers wiki's at their google sites portal but actually blogger is easier to work with when embedding.
You also migit visit Voice Thread for free podcasting this is so easy your students could make the voice threads for you!
Good Luck!
