Beth Still ISTE Newbie Project

In June of 2008 I traveled to San Antonio, Texas to attend the National Education Computing Conference (NECC). Don't let the name fool you; NECC is not just for computer geeks. It is an annual conference, which will be called ISTE from now on, to reflect the growing global audience that attends. It truly is an international conference drawing well over 15,000 educators from around the world. My love for technology drew me to the… Continue

Ann E Darling 21st Century Literacy

Recently I was asked to contribute a writing stategy that I use in the classroom to a faculty meeting. I knew that I wanted to highlight the work my students had done on wiki's blogs and now our classroom ning. I also knew that being the art teacher put me on the fringe of credibility(dont worry its been going on for years) and I really wanted to find some research to back me up. My students were learning important things-not just 6 traits writing skills- this was bigger. Finally I stumbled up… Continue

Ann E Darling Thanksgiving interviews

This holiday I gave my multimedia class the assignment to create and interview video using their small cameras with a movie setting or making a podcast. They are to interview the oldest person at their Thanksgiving dinner and ask 3 questions. I have the entire assignment on our class blog along with the how to directions on Gcast. This is a bunch of fun and very easy to do. The links are: http://wpmu.esu13.org/adarlingContinue
