Beth, Hi! Our district does encourage teachers to use technology and I think that overall they are supportive. I should know what a AUP is but I don't. What is an AUP? I would like to investigate where our district is going in the area of technolo...

All About You
I am a native Nebraskan and am in my 7th year of teaching.
Fourth Grade is great fun and the kids are eager learners.
This year I created a Moodle Class, on-line class, through our local ESU that focuses on reading and writing skills using Habits of Mind Thinking Strategies Content and Iditarod. Last year I was a finalist for Iditarod's Trail Committee's Teacher on the Trail. I partcipated in the 2008 Iditarod and love sharing that exciting race with the students.

Hi Judi,
It is great to hear from you. I am glad to hear that you are becoming a moodle expert! :) I am really excited about what we are doing with online learning in the panhandle. I think it will only be amatter of time before we have an online network statewide that schools and students can take advantage of when it works in their schedule.
Brooke has lots of friends in Sidney and loves going down there. She has adjustd to the move very well!
Take care.

Judi,
I cant get to either of those but what might work is voice thread. It is not a real time chat program but the kids add audio and picture files much like photostory. The benefit is that voicethread houses the files on their server and then you can embed the files in a blog or send along a url for the other class to play back or what about having them access the class blog?
